Black velvet smoothie bowl
This recipe might seem a bit free form, but I'll assure you the combination is fantastic. It's an inky-dark bowl of goodness, and you'll get your 5-a-day right here (assuming you have a large enough portion).
I'm a fan of something crunchy on top, so you'll see this one garnished with toasted muesli. Granola, chia seeds, dried coconut flakes, almonds, berries, and raisins all work too. Have fun with it.
In a blender jar, layer:
1 apple, cored and chopped
3-4 leaves lacinato (Tuscan) kale or a handful of spinach, chopped
1 cup water
1 tsp green tea leaves
1 tsp spirulina powder
1 avocado, peeled, pitted, and chopped
2-3 Tbsp cocoa or raw cacao powder
